Biosafire

The BIOSAFIRE project aims to develop and manufacture more sustainable and safer materials by utilizing bio-based functionalized additives derived from lignin and tannins to enhance fire resistance. This initiative seeks to create a new generation of bio-based flame retardants that replace current toxic alternatives with sustainable, high-performance solutions. Additionally, BIOSAFIRE will assess the application of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework, providing guidelines and recommendations for its improvement based on practical industrial experience.
