EIC Women Leadership Programme

The EIC Women Leadership Programme is a joint initiative of the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) aimed at strengthening the role of women in the innovation and technology sectors. This program offers researchers and entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills and expand their professional networks.

The program is designed for women researchers and emerging leaders from the EIC and EIT communities. Each cohort combines virtual and in-person training sessions, led by experienced trainers who challenge participants’ leadership perspectives through inspiring case studies and participatory methods that encourage active engagement. Additionally, participants receive individualized mentorship and personal coaching and take part in networking events that allow them to connect with peers and role models.

The seventh cohort of the program, which will commence in February 2025, is specifically targeted at researchers and entrepreneurs in the early stages of their projects. The objective is to help them validate and grow their business ideas by providing guidance on key aspects such as company creation, business model development and validation, and access to early-stage financing. Eligible candidates can apply through open calls in the EIC Community.

Participants benefit from a tailored program that includes training sessions on negotiation, pitching, leadership styles, marketing, and public speaking. These two-hour sessions take place once a week during weekday mornings and are led by experts from diverse industries. The interactive approach of the sessions, incorporating practical exercises and case studies, allows participants to apply leadership skills in real-world contexts.

Networking events organized throughout the program expand participants’ networks and increase their visibility among key actors in the European innovation ecosystem. During the training sessions, prominent speakers share testimonials and facilitate connections. The program encourages the exchange of experiences among cohort participants and offers speed-dating activities with mentors.

Participants are also supported by mentors, including experienced CEOs, investors, and entrepreneurs, selected based on the specific professional challenges of each participant. Regular meetings with mentors provide support in setting and achieving professional goals. Additionally, participants can work with EIC business coaches who help them identify new business opportunities and address specific challenges related to their business objectives.

Upon completing the program, participants join an exclusive alumni group on the EIC Community Platform, facilitating ongoing communication with over 200 peers. This platform serves as a hub for networking, event sharing, and updates on relevant news within the community.
